I’m nobody! Who are you?
Are you nobody, too?
Then there’s a pair of us — don’t tell!
They’d banish us, you know.
How dreary to be somebody!
How public, like a frog
To tell your name the livelong day
To an admiring bog!
– Emily Dickinson
My name is Frances. I started this blog originally as a place to post all of the thoughts that I’d been writing during a difficult season in my life. I hoped I would remember the lessons I was learning. Now, I write because I love it. I get inspired by many things and want to share what I’m thinking. I love to hear what you’re thinking, too, so please chime in!
I have worked in a couple different churches and have done almost everything one can do in a church, but I’m most passionate about Spiritual Formation and Discipleship. I care a great deal about church leaders because I know that ministry can eat people alive. I’ve stepped down from a pastoral position to focus on being a full-time mom. I love ministry and the church, so I still volunteer and preach occasionally.
I have been married since September 2007 to a wonderful man named Matt. He is my favorite sounding board and the best gift God has ever given me (after salvation, of course). Matt and I became parents to our amazing son, Thomas, in March 2013. Motherhood has been a blessing to me and a great source of inspiration for understanding God & faith. We live in Los Gatos, CA with our son and cats, C.W. Anderson, Esq. and Roberto.
